What Is In A Name?

Block 10 is Helen.   Which Helen . . . I wonder?  Helen of Troy – known for beauty, and to have sparked the Trojan War?  Helen Keller – that showed us that disabilities can be overcome?   Helen Gurley Brown – that proves women can be business minded?  Helen Mirren – a beloved actress?  A personal friend or family member named Helen?  Who do you think of?

Whatever the name, the person bearing that name actually helps bring a clearer picture to the name and its meaning.   So, what is your name sharing to others?  Wow . . .  getting pretty deep here!  Let’s get back to quilting.

The fact remains that the feminine name is another way, like this quilt-along, to remind us of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

This block appears to me as “crowns around a star” and what better way to honor women (the star) than treat them as royalty! Follow the link for the pattern, and see the sample block here:

We are all stars.  And for those participating in the Stitch Pink Quilt-along, you can share your progress on social media (facebook, Instagram, etc with #ModaStitchPink).

Treat yourself royally today – I’m going to look for my tiara.   Happy Stitching!
